ResearchKoç University is once again the Most Successful Research Institution in the TÜBİTAK Horizon Europe Program!
In the 2021-2022 call of Horizon Europe, the world’s most significant innovation and research program, Koç University has again been recognized as Turkey’s most successful research institution. Koç University secured a total of 14.4 million euros in funding for 19 projects, including 9 ERC (European Research Council) grants and 1 EIC (European Innovation Council) grant, along with 1 Twinning Project, 4 Consortium Projects, 3 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions postdoctoral fellowships, and 1 doctoral scholarship program.
Five out of the nine funds received under ERC are in the fields of engineering, three in social sciences, and one in life sciences. The Twinning Program sheds light on migration research. The EIC transition fund, received by our university for the first time, focuses on interdisciplinary projects in the fields of engineering and medicine while other projects in the fields of administrative sciences, law, and social sciences, conducted in collaboration with other universities and institutions, have been deemed worthy of consortium support.
Koç University owes this prestigious position as the most successful Turkish research institution to its excellent research environment, distinguished faculty profile, and commitment to interdisciplinary studies.
